THORNLEY GREYHOUND STADIUM

The County Durham village of Thornley had a greyhound track situated at 1° 27' W 54° 44' N and was known locally as the Halfway House Stadium. It was in an area which was renowned for greyhound racing, close to the track at Wheatley Hill, and the track is known to have operated as an independent track throughout 1947.
